Scouts Canada has cancelled all Scouting events, camps, and meetings across the country for the next few weeks; Scouter Ken's Cub Pack and Beaver Colony, as well as his daughter's Scout Troop, all will not be meeting until at least April 6th.

If your Pack or Troop is in similar straits, here's something STEM-related you can challenge your stuck-at-home youth with: Bitsbox-based challenge to create a simple game.

This is the coding challenge Ken presented to his Cubs and his daughter's Scout Troop last week, and it is divided into nine stages of increasing complexity. Further, most of the stages are divided into easy, intermediate, and challenging tiers, so that youth can engage with the code at a level they feel comfortable with. Parents and Scouters who are unfamiliar with programming concepts may also find it fun!

Instructions for how to get started are in the document, so feel free to grab a copy and send it on to your youth!
