What are some strategies to keep Scouters — and youth, for that matter — from burning out on Scouting?
Follow-Up From Previous Episode
Scouter Colin — not our Colin; a different one — writes:
On your podcast you suggested that you could just charge more to cover the fees. However, this violates the Code of Conduct for the Credit and Debit Card Industry. You can't charge more for credit card payments legally. Some merchants offer discouts for cash payments but you can't just add the 2.4%.
So there's that; don't add a surcharge to your popcorn prices if you're taking Square payments!
Is there such a thing as too much Scouting? We'd like to answer “no”, of course, but in truth, it's very much a “yes”; it is both entirely possible, and entirely too easy, to get in over your head when it comes to being involved in the Scouting movement. And this is true for both youth and adults!
Our first shout out goes to Artillerist, who left us a five star review on iTunes:
It is a great podcast and there is many new things I am learning.
And Scouter Mike — our guest on the show last week — left us a review on Facebook:
Great conversation with Great Scouters! Learn something new every episode and feel energized and renewed about facilitating the adventure of Scouting!
Relatedly, you can apparently leave us reviews on Facebook.
And as always, a big thank you to the folks at Scouting Radio for rebroadcasting Scouting Stuff episodes to their worldwide Scouting audience. If you're listening to us on Scouting Radio right now, let us know; reach out and get in touch. We'd love to hear from you.
